John Van Der Wall is an attorney specializing in business, real estate, and common interest development law, with respect to both litigation and non-litigation matters. John is a strategic thinker and maintains a keen focus on his client needs and objectives while seeking creative solutions to the most complex legal challenges. Â John prides himself in seeking practical resolutions of the multifaceted issues common in modern legal disputes.
A native of New Jersey, John completed his Bachelor of Arts in Public Sociology at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Â John earned his Juris Doctorate, with a concentration in Intellectual Property, at Seton Hall School of Law, Newark, New Jersey. He was a participant in Mock Trial where he competed in the Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition. Â John has successfully passed the bar in three states: New York, New Jersey and California.
Prior to joining KGSW, John had a variety of legal and administrative experiences. Â He has interned with both the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Â John clerked for the Honorable Garry J. Furnari, a judge on the Vicinage 5 Superior Court in New Jersey. John most recently worked for the City of Irvine where he experienced the governmental decision-making process in city planning and permitting. John excelled at practical problem-solving in that environment.
Beyond the courtroom, John finds solace and challenge in the timeless game of chess. This strategic pursuit not only serves as a leisurely escape but also mirrors the calculated moves and foresight required in his professional life.
