John Van Der Wall is an attorney specializing in business, real estate, and common interest development law, with respect to both litigation and non-litigation matters. John is a strategic thinker and maintains a keen focus on his client needs and objectives while seeking creative solutions to the most complex legal challenges.  John prides himself in seeking practical resolutions of the multifaceted issues common in modern legal disputes.

A native of New Jersey, John completed his Bachelor of Arts in Public Sociology at Ramapo College of New Jersey.  John earned his Juris Doctorate, with a concentration in Intellectual Property, at Seton Hall School of Law, Newark, New Jersey. He was a participant in Mock Trial where he competed in the Peter James Johnson National Civil Rights Trial Competition.  John has successfully passed the bar in three states: New York, New Jersey and California.

Prior to joining KGSW, John had a variety of legal and administrative experiences.  He has interned with both the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development.  John clerked for the Honorable Garry J. Furnari, a judge on the Vicinage 5 Superior Court in New Jersey. John most recently worked for the City of Irvine where he experienced the governmental decision-making process in city planning and permitting. John excelled at practical problem-solving in that environment.

Beyond the courtroom, John finds solace and challenge in the timeless game of chess. This strategic pursuit not only serves as a leisurely escape but also mirrors the calculated moves and foresight required in his professional life.
