Benjamin Refoua
Associate
Ben Refoua is a California attorney whose practice focuses on real estate matters across both transactional and litigation contexts. He advises and represents developers, property owners, and homeowners associations on issues including community association governance, CC&Rs and governing documents, zoning regulations, landlord-tenant disputes, and regulatory compliance.
His practice encompasses habitability defense, commercial leasing, and insurance defense on behalf of carriers and their insureds. Ben has extensive experience assisting property owners and managers with problem tenants on both the residential and commercial side, including evictions, lease enforcement, and dispute resolution. He advises clients on compliance with evolving California real estate laws and works closely with developers, lenders, and property owners to navigate complex regulatory frameworks from planning through resolution.
Ben earned his J.D. from Southwestern Law School through its accelerated SCALE program and his M.B.A. from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at Claremont Graduate University — completing both degrees in approximately two and a half years — along with a B.S. from the University of Southern California. He is admitted to the California State Bar and the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and holds a California Department of Real Estate license, giving him a practical, business-oriented perspective that informs his legal work.
